Halfway Reflection (Assignment 14A)

1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
I have used time management to keep up with the requirements of this week. Over the first three weeks, I got used to the schedule of assignments, and when they are due. I made a schedule of when to get my assignments done and it made my experience a lot easier, and more manageable.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
I felt like giving up up multiple times when the assignments required me to give interviews. The interviews require so much work and time, and it would get a little tedious at times. Knowing that the interviews would give me more insight into my business ideas helped to pull me through. Also, I believe I already had a tenacious attitude before this class, so I did not gain one in the last two months.
3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
I believe that you should:
1. Make a schedule to set aside time, and to make the assignments easier?
2. Give yourself a reason for everything that you are doing. This makes you more hungry and tenacious.
3. Set a goal to achieve. If you know you are doing these assignments to help you set up a potential business, you will be a lot more likely to be aggressive and tenacious.

  1. David,
I think all the things you suggested are very valid and definitely necessary for getting a good grade and staying on top of things in college. I too said that a schedule is imperative for staying on track and making sure your assignments get done and I think that is something everyone should keep very organized to be successful. I like what you had to say as far as always keeping a purpose in what you do and I agree that that is so important to get the most out of what you do.

  2. David,
I agree that a lot of the work in this class seems tedious on the surface, but I think it helps prepare us for the grind that is being an entrepreneur. Also, it is good that although you may not be motivated for some assignments like interviews, getting them done and processing the feedback from them keeps you going.
